Being practically across the road from our hike up to Perry Creek Falls,
we decided to make the short mile hike up to the ice caves. Presumably due to the late snow this
year, as well as the day, the ice caves had not yet formed. The sheer rock walls, supremely tall ribbons
of falling water, and the large snow field, all were quite impressive. About the first two thirds of the
trail is unbelievably good. It starts paved, and has several long boardwalks and bridges, before
transitioning to hard packed gravel constrained by logs and planks. Only at the end does it turn into
a normal dirt trail with a little mud. A definite must see if you're in the area, caves or not!
